In the Smolensk region determined the winner of the competition “Zemsky teacher” for the school

The Ministry of Education and Science of the Smolensk region summed up the results of the competitive selection of the program “Zemsky Teacher”. The winner was a teacher who will be employed as an English teacher in secondary secondary school No. 3 named after Hero of the Russian Federation I.V. Korobov of the city of Vyazma. For moving and working in the region, the specialist will receive a one-time compensation payment of 1 million rubles.

In 2026, within the framework of this federal program, 10 teachers of various specialties have already started working in schools of the region. New teachers teach in Vyazma, Dorogobuzh, Desnogorsk, Safonovo, Yartsevo, Ugra, Khyslavich and other municipalities. Among them are teachers of mathematics, English, chemistry, Russian language, literature and history.

The program has been implemented in the region for five years on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Since its launch, 31 teachers have been employed in educational institutions of the region. In 2026, it is planned to attract 11 more teachers.

In addition to the federal payment, the region has an expanded package of support measures: compensation for rental housing, utilities, the provision of service apartments and monthly surcharges. For teachers of physics, mathematics, chemistry and biology, the amount of payment for repayment of the mortgage has been doubled to 2 million rubles.

The Ministry thanked the teachers for their dedication, noting that they remain the main reference point for children in small towns and villages, and wished them grateful students and support of loved ones.
