Sochi has launched a large-scale campaign to vaccinate the population against influenza - its goal is to cover more than 320 thousand residents and guests of the city by the end of October. The initiative is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Health of the Krasnodar Territory and the resort administration.
As explained in the mayor’s office of Sochi, the timing was not chosen by chance: to the seasonal peak of morbidity in people had time to form a stable immune response, vaccination is important to do in advance. The city strongly recommends not to postpone vaccination and undergo the procedure in the coming weeks.
You can get vaccinated free of charge in clinics at the place of attachment. To increase the availability of medical care in the city will additionally open a mobile vaccination point – it will work on the Flag Square. This format is designed to simplify access to the procedure for citizens and tourists, as well as reduce waiting time in queues.
The campaign emphasizes that vaccination remains one of the most effective ways to prevent influenza and reduce the risk of severe disease. Special attention should be paid to risk groups, including the elderly, patients with chronic diseases and children.
At the moment, Sochi already has the necessary volumes of vaccines, and medical institutions are ready to increase the flow of patients. The municipality expects that a high level of vaccination coverage will minimize the risks of massive influenza outbreaks in the autumn-winter period.
