In Soligalich continue the restoration of the trade rows of the XIX century

In Kostroma Soligalich resumed work on the restoration of historical wooden shopping rows. The progress of the restoration during a working trip to the north-west of the region was assessed by Governor Sergey Sitnikov.

The history of the project was not easy. The restoration began in 2019, but in 2023 the work had to be stopped after a complaint from the public organization “Society for the Protection of Monuments”. Checks of the MIA and the Investigative Committee followed. As a result, the case was dismissed for lack of corpus delicti. During the two-year break, the cost of the project doubled.

Sergey Sitnikov instructed to identify the persons who filed the complaint and consider the possibility of recovering from them through the court damage caused by downtime. The governor said he believes it is necessary to seek criminal and civil liability to return the funds to the budget.

In December 2025, the contract for the continuation of the restoration was concluded with the company "Design". Previously, this contractor worked on the restoration of the historic fire station in Kostroma and Bogodomov House in Susanino.
