In Tajikistan completed the exercises of the CSTO special forces

Exercises under the conditional name “Cobalt-2026” with special units of the internal affairs bodies, national security, internal troops (national guards), special and anti-drug services, as well as rescue and fire-fighting structures that are part of the formations of the special forces of the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces (FSN CRRF) of the CSTO, ended in Tajikistan. This was reported in the press service of the CSTO, writes sb.by.

The exercises were held from 18 to 23 October in accordance with the plan of joint training of the governing bodies and formations of forces and means of the CSTO collective security system. Special forces fighters from the member states of the organization in conditions close to combat, improved their skills to conduct an independent special operation to combat illegal armed groups, paramilitary drug groups and the release of hostages.

During the exercises, practical actions of combined operational and combat groups of special forces were worked out in solving tasks for the purpose in the mountainous terrain, issues of comprehensive support for the group and interaction with aviation, a training mountain exit was made. Competitions in tactical firing from various types of hand-held combat firearms were also held, an exhibition of weapons samples, special means consisting of equipment from competent authorities was launched. Analysis of the actions of the participants of the exercise was carried out by an international research group. The exercises involved armored vehicles, special vehicles, army aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles, service-search dogs.

At the closing ceremony, CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov stressed the importance of the exercises in preparing special forces for action in the event of a crisis in the CSTO area of responsibility. He highly appreciated the field training and coherence of actions of the personnel of the units that took part in the Cobalt-2026 exercises.
