In Tambov, the fraudster cheated Ozone for a million

The October district court of the city of Tambov pronounced a verdict in the case of major fraud against the Ozon marketplace (Internet Solutions LLC).

As the investigation established, in April 2025, the man, while at home, developed a scheme for stealing money from an online retailer. Using the accounts of strangers, he issued seven orders for designers with a total value of more than one million rubles. Arriving in Tambov for goods, the attacker received parcels, but instead of keeping them for himself, he replaced the contents with fakes with glued barcodes. On the same day, he made a refund, thus returning the money paid. The amount of damage caused to the company exceeded 1 million rubles.

The court qualified the actions of the defendant as fraud on an especially large scale and imposed a punishment of 3 years imprisonment in a general regime correctional colony. In addition, the convict will have to pay a fine of 70 thousand rubles.

The civil claim of the aggrieved party was satisfied in full. In addition, the state confiscated the designer-replica used in the criminal scheme.

At the moment, the sentence has not entered into legal force and can be appealed.
