In the Tambov region for nine months decreased production of meat, milk and eggs

The agricultural organizations of the Tambov region summed up the results of January-September 2026: the production of meat, milk and chicken eggs decreased compared to the same period last year.

So, meat was produced 445.2 thousand tons – 25.3 thousand tons (5.4%) less. The decline was recorded in the farms of nine municipal districts, including Tokarev, Bondar and Inzhavin.

Gross milk production amounted to 66.9 thousand tons, which is 4.4 thousand tons (6.1%) less. The decrease was noted in ten districts, including Morshansky, Nikiforovsky and Tokarevsky. The average yield per cow fell to 6,386 kg against 6,623 kg a year earlier.

The production of chicken eggs in the poultry farm of the region decreased by 25.9% - the reason was the elimination of the laying hens in August.

At the same time, the number of pigs increased by 3.8% (to 1,165.7 thousand heads), sheep - by 6.4% (to 2.3 thousand heads). The number of cattle decreased by 3.3% (to 24.9 thousand heads), cows - by 4.7% (to 10.6 thousand heads), horses - by 0.4% (to 0.2 thousand heads), birds - by 0.6% (to 17 053.5 thousand heads).
