In the Tula region, young cedars appeared on the territories of social institutions. The region joined the all-Russian environmental movement “Cedars of Russia”, whose participants green cities and villages across the country, shared with “MK in Tula” in the press service of the Ministry of Social Protection of the region.
The action was joined by comprehensive social service centers, care homes for the elderly, the Tula Regional Center for Rehabilitation of the Disabled, the Regional Center "Development" and social rehabilitation centers.
The seedlings were placed on the sites of institutions, where over time they will become part of green areas for walking and recreation. Such spaces are especially important for the elderly, citizens with disabilities and pupils of social organizations: they allow you to spend more time outdoors in a comfortable environment.
The Cedars of Russia movement unites volunteers who plant trees near schools, kindergartens, medical and social institutions, as well as in parks and other public places. One of the priorities of the project is the environmental education of children and young people. Planting trees together and caring for them help to form a responsible attitude to nature.
Cedar for the action was not chosen by chance. This evergreen tree can live for centuries. Its needles secrete phytoncides - natural substances that suppress the development of certain microorganisms.
New trees will eventually complement the green areas of social institutions of the Tula region and make their territories more cozy.
Earlier, MK in Tula reported about the planting of 5.5 thousand trees in the Kulikovo field as part of the ecological and patriotic campaign “Green Dubrava”. About the completion of the next stage of the project said the Governor Dmitry Milyaev. This year, the event was timed to the 30th anniversary of the Kulikovo Field Museum-Reserve. Participants of the action gathered in the village of Monastyrshchino.
