In the correctional center at the prison of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Ulyanovsk region organized a creative evening called “Autumn Ball”. The convicts, who are serving a sentence of forced labor, performed musical numbers, read poems and presented small performances. The event became part of the cultural and educational work of the institution.
During the holiday, the assembly hall of the correctional center turned into a platform for performances. The room was decorated with colorful autumn foliage, branches and berry compositions. This design complemented the thematic program prepared by the participants of the event.
One of the main directions of the evening was literary creativity. From the stage there were works by famous authors dedicated to nature and autumn. Some of the convicts decided to submit their own poems, in which they shared personal experiences and reflections on life.
Literary performances were replaced by musical numbers. The participants performed lyrical compositions for guitar and romances, demonstrating their vocal abilities.
A separate place in the program took theatrical miniatures. The convicts prepared short scenes in which they were able to show acting skills and a sense of humor. The variety of presentations allowed the participants to try themselves in different creative directions.
According to the regional department of the Federal Penitentiary Service, holding such events helps to diversify the daily life of convicts and create conditions for the development of their abilities. Joint preparation of speeches also contributes to communication, interaction and the formation of responsibility for a common cause.
Cultural activities are considered in the institution as one of the elements of educational work. Through participation in creative projects, convicts get the opportunity to show initiative, gain new experience and strengthen self-confidence.
The Autumn Ball became part of the work on the social adaptation of people serving sentences. UFSIN emphasizes that involvement in creative activities helps to form positive attitudes and contributes to the preparation for the return to society.
