On October 24, regional agricultural fairs were held in Dimitrovgrad and Novoulyanovsk, which were visited by a total of 8.4 thousand people. Local manufacturers brought goods worth more than 10 million rubles. At the same time, the cost of a number of products was lower than the prices in stores.

The most crowded was the fair in Dimitrovgrad. Here trade was organized with 92 cars, and the number of visitors reached five thousand people. The total cost of delivered products amounted to 5.7 million rubles.

In Novoulyanovsk, 81 cars with goods worth 4.34 million rubles arrived at trading platforms. During the work of the fair was visited by about 3.4 thousand residents.

Thus, 173 cars were traded at the two sites, and the total value of the imported products reached 10.04 million rubles.

Buyers were offered a wide range of food products. On the shelves you could find vegetables, meat, sausages, semi-finished products, dairy products, fish, eggs, flour, sugar, honey and other beekeeping products.

One of the advantages of fair trade became affordable prices for seasonal vegetables. Potatoes were sold at 25-30 rubles per kilogram, while in retail chains its cost was about 37 rubles. Carrots were offered for 23 rubles, onions - for 20-25 rubles, and cabbage - for 25 rubles per kilogram.

Sugar could be purchased for 58-60 rubles, flour - for 36 rubles per kilogram. A liter of farm milk cost 100 rubles. For comparison, in the Central market of Ulyanovsk, a similar product was offered for 130 rubles.

Among dairy products were also presented semi-hard cheeses costing from 670 rubles per kilogram and cottage cheese for 300 rubles.

A significant interest of visitors was caused by meat products. Pork was sold for 250-350 rubles per kilogram, beef - from 600 to 1000 rubles. The cost of broiler chickens ranged from 160 to 350 rubles per kilogram.

Fresh river fish were also in demand. Buyers were offered bream, carp, perch and carp at a price of 80 to 350 rubles.

Autumn agricultural fairs allow residents of the Ulyanovsk region to purchase products directly from producers. For farmers, such events become an additional opportunity to present their products to buyers without intermediaries.
