With the support of the Ministry of Health of the Novgorod region, a new popular direction of training was opened in the Valdai Agricultural College - "Nursing". The new specialty is designed to solve the problem of the shortage of middle-level medical personnel in the region and will allow school graduates to get a popular profession without having to leave their native district, the relevant medical department reported.

Programme of study
Training is designed for 2 years and 10 months, and educational programs are fully adapted to modern healthcare standards. A key feature of the training will be the practical base: students will undergo practical training on the basis of the North-Western District Scientific and Clinical Center named after L. G. Sokolov FMBA of Russia, where high-tech operations are carried out.
Professional discussion
On the opening day of the direction in Valdai, a round table “Actual issues of training nurses” was also held. The discussion was attended by Lilia Besmertnaya, chief freelance specialist in nursing management of the Ministry of Health of the Novgorod region and director of the Professional Medical Personnel Center, together with colleagues, who identified key competencies necessary for future graduates for successful employment.
