Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Vladimir Kukharev presented awards to the winners of the contest “Minsk of the Year” on City Day, September 12, at the concert venue in the Upper City, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.

This year, the title “Minskan of the Year” was awarded to 13 citizens. Each of them showed high results in labor and social activities. The winners of the competition also have an active civic position. It helps them make our city better every day.

- City Day is a holiday that unites many generations of Minsk residents who have revived, built and equipped our city for centuries, V. Kukharev emphasized. Today we must do everything to ensure that the city remains as comfortable, clean and comfortable for living. The life of the city is multifaceted, and today we honor those who have achieved the highest degree of skill and respect from their colleagues in their workplace. This is the result of hard work that has lasted for decades. It is not easy to be an example to others. But it deserves the deepest respect.

The Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee thanked the laureates for their valiant work and presented them with diplomas.

- The awarding of the Minsk of the Year awards is the main event of the City Day, said Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Andrei Strigelsky. All of them are people who by their work and professionalism deserve the deepest respect and high moral qualities prove that they are worthy of such an award. Thanks to them, the city is constantly developing and becoming better for its residents. We're proud of them.

The honorary title “Minskan of the Year” was awarded in various nominations. In the field of trade, catering and hotel (household) services, Elena Kuleshova, a sales consultant of one of the Moscow department stores, is recognized as the best. By the way, her experience in the profession is 38 years.
“To become the “Minskan of the Year”, working in a department store, is doubly honorable,” shared E. Kuleshova. Our store is constantly changing. And the main motivation to work is when there are buyers in the trading room. Always happy to help. It's nice that they believe my experience and taste. We have a lot of regular customers who come not the first year. And we already know about their habits and desires. It's doubly pleasant.

“Minskan of the Year” in the field of health care was the head of the transplantation department of the Minsk Scientific and Practical Center for Surgery, Transplantology and Hematology Sergey Korotkov.
- I feel proud. For each operation you always need to prepare, — said Korotkov, — but it is also an incentive to master something new. Until recently, many modern organ surgeries seemed impossible, but medicine is relentlessly moving forward. I've been in the profession for 25 years. My family is very supportive. I would like to wish the young people of Minsk not to be afraid of difficulties, but to set goals and achieve them. Here, in my opinion, an analogy with sports is appropriate: there are many athletes, and only those who train hard become champions.

For the Minsk of the Year and the spectators of the ceremony, the organizers prepared a musical gift. Vocalists and choreographic groups were accompanied by the Presidential Orchestra of Belarus under the leadership of the chief conductor and artistic director of the collective Vitaly Kulbakov.
