In the Volgograd hospital held a prayer service at the ark with the relics of the saints
A medical institution was delivered with the relics of St. Spyridon of Trimifunt, St. Luke, Archbishop of Simferopol and Crimea, and the holy martyrs Cyprian and Justina

On October 23, Volgograd Regional Clinical Hospital No. 1 became a place of general prayer for health.
In the Church of the Holy Unmercenaries Cosmas and Damian at the hospital held a prayer for the sick. It was headed by Priest Igor Lebedev, responsible for the hospital service of the Department of Church Charity and Social Service of the Volgograd Diocese. The service was also attended by the rector of the hospital church, Priest Nikolai Ilnitsky, Archpriest Alexander Redin, Priest Evgeny Karavaev and Priest Vasily Nesterov, who carry out pastoral service in medical institutions.
To pray together with the clergy came the chief doctor of the hospital Natalia Eduardovna Kushniruk, medical workers and patients.
In his pastoral speech, Father Igor drew the attention of the audience to the example of St. Luke of Crimea, a man who combined the ministry of the Church with a medical vocation. His life testifies that caring for the health of one’s neighbor can be not only a profession, but also a matter of Christian charity.
The priest recalled the spiritual lessons that bear the images of other revered saints. St. Spyridon helps believers to strengthen their trust in God in the midst of life’s difficulties, and Saints Cyprian and Justina testify to the victory of grace over the forces of evil.
Special attention was paid to the ministry of medical workers. Father Igor noted that medical work requires dedication, patience and compassion, and a person who cares for a patient becomes a participant in the important cause of helping others. Those who suffer bodily suffering, he wished not to lose hope, to find comfort in prayer and to be strengthened spiritually.
At the end of the prayer, those present joined the relics of the saints, offering prayers for their own health, the recovery of patients and the well-being of loved ones.
