In Voronezh Novokhopersk dismantled attack with a knife because of rumors

In Novokhopersk, Voronezh region, police detained a 41-year-old man who is suspected of attacking an acquaintance. According to the regional GU of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the conflict arose on the basis of rumors: the victim, according to investigators, spread gossip about the suspect and his wife.
The incident occurred when a local resident was repairing the fence. The suspect knocked him to the ground, beat him and threatened him with a knife and demanded to stop spreading rumors. In addition, he demanded the transfer of 60 thousand rubles.
After the incident, the victim sought medical help and reported to law enforcement agencies. Police identified and detained the suspect. At the interrogation, the man pleaded guilty.
A criminal case has been opened against the detainee under Part 2 of Article 163 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - extortion committed with the use of violence. The sanction of the article provides for a punishment of up to 7 years imprisonment. Now the question of the measure of restraint is being decided.
