In the Voronezh region, the culprit of cutting 32 oaks reimbursed 5.4 million rubles to the budget
According to the Agency, the money will be directed exclusively to improve the environment

The culprit of illegal felling of oaks in the "Valley of the Pykhovka River" in the Novokhopersky district of the Voronezh region fully compensated for the damage. The regional budget received 5 million 385 thousand rubles, reported in the regional Ministry of natural resources.
According to the agency, the money will be used exclusively to improve the environment. It is noted that the culprit left Russia, but the damage was compensated in full.
As specified in the Ministry of Natural Resources, a large role in the disclosure was played by local residents: they did not limit themselves to discussion in social networks, and immediately appealed to the Ministry and the police. “Thanks to their indifference, illegal logging was stopped and the perpetrators were found,” Minister Natalia Veter said.
Recall that on April 15, 2026, at least 32 oaks were cut down in the "Valley of the Pykhovka River", among which there were centuries. Environmental damage was estimated at about 5.38 million rubles.
The valley of the Pykhovka River is a unique place with well-preserved elements of the southern forest-steppe: meadows, steppe slopes, wetlands and bayrac forests. Oaks play a special role in this ecosystem.
