The Yaroslavl Regional Clinical Hospital was recently attacked by Ukrainian hackers. This was reported by the head physician of the medical institution Mikhail Osipov. The information was announced at a meeting of the health committee of the Yaroslavl regional Duma. Mikhail Osipov said that the hospital servers were seized by Ukrainian hackers who blocked access to the databases. They demanded money in return.

The hospital refused to pay money to the enemies of the state. Lost data was recovered through backup. But that didn't solve the whole problem. Most of the software used by Yaroslavl hospitals is of foreign origin. Therefore, foreign hackers find holes in the protection, which are used for hacking.

The head doctor said that it is possible to resist hackers. But for this you need to buy additional equipment for about 25 million rubles. And I asked the members of the regional Legislative Assembly to include these expenses in the budget for next year.
