In Yaroslavl, the number of drunk drivers increased

In Yaroslavl, police officers over the weekend were able to identify 43 drivers who sat behind the wheel while drunk. Of the 43 detainees, five were caught drunk driving again.

Last weekend, drunk drivers were identified significantly less.

Now those who first got drunk behind the wheel face administrative punishment in the form of a fine of 45 thousand rubles. and deprivation of the right of management for a period of 1.5 to 2 years or administrative arrest.

Those five who sat drunk behind the wheel again, the penalty will not get rid of. Criminal cases will be initiated against them under Part 1 of Article 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The punishment is more severe - a fine of 200 to 300 thousand rubles, or compulsory work up to 480 hours, or forced labor up to 2 years, or imprisonment up to 2 years and deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.

The car, behind the wheel of which these drivers sat intoxicated, will be seized.

The State Traffic Inspectorate recalls that severe measures of influence are more than justified. A drunk driver is dangerous to himself and others.
