Metropolitan couples who are going to get married, got the opportunity to undergo a comprehensive check of reproductive function thanks to the charity campaign “I want to be born”. The project was launched by joint efforts of the polyclinic No21 of Kazan and the city registry office. Launched in July, the program has already covered about two hundred participants.
The initiative is addressed to citizens aged 18-49 who apply for marriage registration. During the visit to the registry office, they are given special questionnaires to analyze reproductive potential. After a couple of days, the future spouses are waiting in the clinic narrow specialists. Based on the initial results of the checkup, some patients have already been sent for a more detailed diagnosis: in particular, an in-depth analysis of sperm is assigned to eight men, and additional tests are assigned to fifteen women.
Medical unit for brides includes a visit to the gynecologist, breast examination and smears for cytological examination. The list of tests for infections and HPV is formed taking into account the age of the patient. Women over 30 years additionally undergo ultrasound scanning of the pelvis and mammary glands, PCR testing and the final consultation of the doctor. The grooms are taken by an andrologist, urologist or surgeon.
