Vasily Anokhin noted that comprehensive improvement contributes to the modernization and increase the attractiveness of public spaces in municipalities of the Smolensk region. One of the completed projects in Roslavl was the arrangement of a tourist center, implemented within the framework of the national project “Tourism and Hospitality”.
The central element of the renovation was the ancient settlement "Burtseva Gora", which serves as the historical heart of the city. A full-fledged zone for rest and study of history has been created here: new pedestrian paths have been laid, an entrance group has been equipped, and benches, street beds, swings and shadow canopies have been installed.
To get acquainted with the past of the city, a model of the ancient Rostislavl of the XII-XIII centuries and models of guns were placed on the territory. On the observation deck, a new fence was mounted and two stationary binoculars were installed to view the panorama, and in the evening the space is illuminated by high and medium lamps.
Significant changes were also made to the areas around the monuments. The monument to the founder of the city to the Holy Prince Rostislav now leads a new comfortable staircase. In addition, the pedestrian zones around the monuments to the prince and the T-34 tank were combined into a single route, equipped with paths, benches and modern architectural illumination.
In total, 47 lamps were installed at these facilities and signs were installed. On the facade of the house No. 40 on Proletarskaya Street, a large wall clock appeared, and the entrance to the Transfiguration Monastery was decorated with LED consoles with the coat of arms of Roslavl and monograms.
Improvement work continues throughout the region. This year, within the framework of the federal project “Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment”, which is part of the national project “Infrastructure for Life”, it is planned to update 70 territories in all 27 municipalities of the region.
