Vasily Anokhin reported on large-scale repair of roads and bridges in the Smolensk region

The Governor of the Smolensk region Vasily Anokhin held a working meeting with the heads of municipal districts, where they discussed the implementation of the regional road fund. According to the head of the region, work on improving the road network is a priority on which the safety of people directly depends.

Achievements and plans Smolensk region demonstrates high pace of work. In 2025, the region took first place in the Central Federal District in terms of the dynamics of bringing roads into a regulatory state thanks to the national project “Infrastructure for Life”.

Last year, work was carried out on 260 sites. In 2026, the volumes have been preserved: there are plans to repair 263 objects with a total length of almost 305 kilometers. The list includes:

219 roads in municipalities;

28 regional roads;

16 roads in Smolensk.

At the meeting, districts were noted that show the best results:

Rural roads: Novoduginsky, Demidovsky, Khyslavichsky, Velizhsky and Krasninsky districts.

Street and road network: Ershich, Ugra, Dukhovshchinsky, Novoduginsky, Krasninsky and Kardymovsky districts.

Federal co-financing: Novoduginsky, Holm-Zhirkovsky, Velizhsky, Ugra and Shumyachsky districts.

Plans for the future Work will continue in 2027. At the same time, the emphasis in the allocation of funds will shift towards municipal districts.

In the field of major repairs of bridges, the region also does not slow down. Having completed the repair of the main bridge in Sychevka, next year it is planned to begin updating two more key crossings across the Dnieper River:

Peter and Paul Bridge in Smolensk.

Bridge on Chistyakov Street in Dorogobuzh.
