Vasily Anokhin summed up the results of large-scale construction of lighting in villages and cities of Smolensk region.

Governor of the Smolensk region Vasily Anokhin reported on the implementation of a large-scale project for the construction of outdoor electric lighting lines on regional roads passing through settlements. The main goal of the work is to ensure safe and comfortable movement of residents at any time of the day.

In 2026, almost 140 million rubles were allocated from the budget for these purposes. The project covers 28 facilities, the total length of the new lines will be more than 46 kilometers. Work on 25 sites has already been completed, on the remaining three they are continuing and will be fully completed by the end of October.

New lighting lines appeared in key municipalities of the region:

Velizh: on Volodarsky and Nevelsky highway (the road "Olsha - Velizh - Usvyaty - Nevel").

Gagarinsky district (Prepustoye village): on Central Street, as well as on Gzhatskaya and Voskresenskaya streets.

Novoduginsky district (Dneprovsky village): on the streets of Cancer and Great Soviet.

Vyazem district: in the village of Cheremushki on the Old Smolensk road (site Smolensk - Vyazma).

Yelny district: on the road Roslavl - Yelnya - Dorogobuzh - Safonovo (from 80 km 600 m to 82 km 270 m).

Yartsev district: on the road from the highway M-1 "Belarus" to the village of Dubrovo.

Dukhovshchi district (P. Ozerny): at the intersection of roads "Vityaz - Dukhovshchyna - White - Nelidovo".

Smolensk district: in the village of Moshchinki (road M-1 "Belarus" - Zhukovo).

The project is being implemented as part of systematic work to improve the regional infrastructure and improve the quality of life of Smolensk residents.
