When planning road works and landscaping yards, special attention is paid to inter-quarter travel in the region. Governor Vasily Anokhin stressed that these sections of roads are used daily by residents to enter their homes, so it is important to consistently bring them into a regulatory state and maintain them efficiently. This year in Smolensk, repair work covered more than 20 such facilities in all districts of the city.
At the facilities, road workers perform a full range of works. Builders mill worn-out pavement, install new side stones, lay two layers of fresh asphalt concrete, repair existing and laying missing pedestrian sidewalks, and equip comfortable parking spaces in the courtyards.
Updated and completed passages included the following sections:
In Leninsky and Industrial districts: travel from Verkhne-Moprovsky Lane to Kotovsky Street; sections from Gagarin Avenue (along houses No. 26 and No. 30 to Sportivnaya Street, as well as between houses No. 48 and No. 46 to house No. 2 on Novo-Mayskaya Street).
In the central part: a segment from Lenin Street between houses No. 24 and No. 26 to Workers' Lane.
In residential neighborhoods: a large-scale passage from Lomonosov Street (between houses No. 12, No. 14 and No. 16, 16a, 16b) along the house No. 16 on Lomonosov and the house No. 17 on Rumyantsev with exit to Lomonosov; a section from Popov Street along the house No. 48; a developed network of passages along Rylenkov Street to houses No. 1, 3, 5, 7, 9a, 9b.
In the Kiselevka microdistrict: travel from Rylenkov Street between houses No. 17 and No. 19 (along houses No. 17, 15 on Rylenkov and houses No. 19, 13 on Builders Avenue), as well as a plot from Builders Avenue to house No. 18a.
Priority is given to those roads that lead to key social facilities – educational institutions, kindergartens and medical organizations. To improve the safety of pedestrians and motorists, modern street lighting lines are promptly installed in such areas as necessary.
