Vasily Anokhin: contracts with contractor of reconstruction of Smolensk airport

Vasily Anokhin announced the conclusion of contracts with a contractor for the reconstruction of the Smolensk (North) airport. The work is carried out on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin within the framework of the national project “Effective transport system”.

In total, two state contracts were signed for the reconstruction of the airfield, the total cost of which is almost 10 billion rubles. The contractor will be the state enterprise from the Republic of Belarus Trust Minskpromstroy, determined based on the results of previously conducted competitive procedures.

The project provides for a large-scale modernization of airfield infrastructure facilities, including the reconstruction of a runway measuring 2500 by 42 meters, a taxiway and parking places for aircraft. The construction of a new airport complex is also planned.

The project is scheduled for the period from 2026 to 2029. Since the design documentation developed by FSUE Aeroproekt has already received a positive conclusion from Glavgosexpertiza, the signing of contracts allows us to proceed to the immediate stage of construction and installation works.

This reconstruction is a significant infrastructure project for the region. Its implementation will allow developing air traffic and increasing the transport accessibility of the Smolensk region, as well as creating additional opportunities for the development of tourism and the economy.
