European Court Allows Frogs to Croak at Night
Austria's Supreme Court has ruled that frogs in the Pashing community can continue to croak at night, according to the Heute newspaper

Austria's Supreme Court has ruled that frogs in the Pashing community can continue to croak at night. The court rejected the appeal of a local resident suffering from insomnia and complained about a neighbor because of the loud croaking of frogs in his pond.
The district court of Thrawn, where the plaintiff initially appealed, first sided with him and ordered the owners of the pond to reduce the noise level, and the examination confirmed the excess of permissible indicators. However, the owners of the pond did not agree with this decision, appealed to the Linz Land Court and won the case.
The court pointed out that frogs appeared in the pond on their own, and their croaking is a natural phenomenon. After that, the plaintiff appealed to the Supreme Court of Austria, which confirmed the decision of the Linz Land Court and rejected his appeal. In its decision, the Supreme Court also noted that the frogs belong to a protected species and settled in the pond on their own.
