The native of Pyatnitsky originally wanted to become a teacher like her mother, but her parents suggested a different path. She entered the agricultural technical school in the Krasnogvardeysky district, where after four years of training she received a red diploma of zootechnics.

Next, Lyudmila Kononenko went to the Belgorod Agricultural Academy, but undergraduate due to economic difficulties after the collapse of the USSR and the need to help the family. To support mom and dad, the Belgorodok got a job as a seller in a store. Higher education economist later received.

Family business

She worked conscientiously, and one day the owners of the store offered the girl to keep books. So Lyudmila Kononenko worked as a seller for several years, and debited with a loan. Then she got married and had a baby. After the decree, the young mother returned to the store, but not for long.

Her mother rented a dining room that worked at a dairy cannery. The family decided to try their own business, so in 2001 their first “Fantasia” appeared. And in 2024 took care of the dining room.

For six months, the number of visitors to the dining room has tripled - due to the workers of the sugar factory, where the catering point worked. Then they opened the dining room at lunch and for everyone. In 2014, the mother and daughter took the dining room of the Valuis agricultural plant, and in 2016 – Chernyansky.

"New Arbat"

Lyudmila Kononenko fulfilled her dream of opening a cafe, buying a room in 2019. She made repairs there, renaming the institution from Arbat to New Arbat.

Under the federal project “Small and medium-sized entrepreneurship and support for individual entrepreneurial initiative” of the national project “Effective and competitive economy”, the owner of the cafe took a preferential loan at 9% for the purchase of equipment. She managed to create a place where families, companies and collectives gather on any occasion.
