Vladimirov set the task to make Stavropol the leader in gas engine fuel

The development of infrastructure for vehicles on methane was discussed at a meeting with relevant ministers and heads of territories. This was reported by the Governor of the Stavropol Territory Vladimir Vladimirov.

According to him, the region aims to become the leader in the country in the use of NGV fuel. This is environmentally friendly, economical, and in conditions of periodic shortage of other fuels, it is also very important. Public transport, garbage trucks, municipal and regional machines are planned to be transferred to gas as much as possible.

Stavropol region already occupies the ninth place in the country in terms of the development of the gas engine fuel market. Natural gas-powered vehicles serve 28 fuel stations on highways and in all major cities. Since 2021, there are subsidies for car owners who want to switch to methane. During this time, almost 1,300 vehicles were converted.

For further growth, it is necessary to expand the infrastructure – gas stations should appear in all territories of the region.

“Instructed in each territory of the region to determine land plots for stationary filling stations. Volumes depend on the number of inhabitants: where up to 50 thousand people live - at least two plots; up to 100 thousand - 7 plots; up to 200 thousand - at least 10. In Stavropol — 12 sites for methane gas stations, — quotes the words of the Governor of his press service.

The Minister of Road Economy and Transport Evgeny Shtepa was instructed to work out the parameters of the program of subsidies to auto enterprises for technical re-equipment of cars.
