The authorities of Novomoskovsk decided to abandon urban forests
In the Arbitration Court of the Tula region began court hearings on resonant land dispute

In the Arbitration Court of the Tula region began court hearings on a resonant land dispute. The administration of the city of Novomoskovsk demands to recognize as unreliable the information of the state forest register on the presence of urban forests in the municipality.
The city administration insists that there are virtually no urban forests with an area of 3 hectares, which are listed in the register. As part of the lawsuit, the authorities ask the court not only to establish the absence of such forests, but also to oblige the responsible departments to exclude controversial information from the state forest register.
The defendants in the case are the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Ecology of the Tula region and the Federal Forestry Agency. Third parties involved the Office of Rosreestr in the Tula region and the Prosecutor’s office of the region.
Such disputes are often associated with discrepancies in data in different registers or with different interpretations of the status of lands: in some documents, the territory may be listed as part of a settlement, in others - relate to the forest fund.
