The ceremony of awarding participants of the city review competition for the best project for the improvement and landscaping of the territories of educational institutions.

The ceremony of awarding the participants of the city review competition for the best project on landscaping and landscaping of the territories of educational institutions “Blooming Capital: We arrange it together” took place on the summer stage of the Minsk State Palace of Children and Youth on September 12, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.

The competition was established over 30 years ago. Since then, schools, gymnasiums, kindergartens and colleges of Minsk annually present new landscape compositions, original flower beds and recreational spaces to the jury.

According to the Chairman of the Education Committee of the Minsk City Executive Committee, member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly Marina Ilyina, today the competition has several key goals:
- First and foremost is aesthetics. It is very important when children come to the territory of their educational institution and see the beauty. Second, students can participate in the creation of this beauty. Together with teachers, children grow flowers, form compositions that unite the whole team. Minsk today is a flourishing capital. And this is a merit, including educational institutions. Our schools, kindergartens, colleges contribute to the beauty of the whole city, Ilyina said.

In total, 130 educational institutions participated in the competition. During the award ceremony, the winners were named in six nominations: “Business card”, “Monochrome flower garden”, “Children’s dreams”, “Ringing garden”, “Mistress of the estate”, “My garden”.

The staff of secondary school No 2 of the Frunze district was awarded the first place in the nomination "Business card". It was necessary to demonstrate the original green design of the entrance group of the educational institution. The organizer of the landscaped space was geography teacher Natalia Lukashevich.
- Together with a colleague, a biology teacher, for seven years we have been engaged in greening the school territory. Developed the concept of flower beds and landscape compositions, planted plants. Our competition is called "The World of Nature in Stone." The central entrance of the school is decorated with flowers and stone architectural forms, Lukashevich said. We have a huge number of varieties of plants. Help the people of the nearby home - bring seedlings and seedlings. Students are also involved in the improvement.

Lots of themed flower beds. Like the Spring Palette. It blossoms in the early days of the warm season, when the snow is just falling. There was a school garden this year.
- And we will definitely expand this direction. We got a rich harvest! Zucchini and patissons just filled us with fruits, and cherry tomatoes are still ripening. There are already ideas on how to use large pumpkins: bright autumn photo shoots are ahead of them, Lukashevich said.
- It all starts at school! A beautiful green area for educational institutions is a place of rest and strength. Nature is a relaxation, said Oksana Kokareva, director of secondary school No. 2.

Among preschool education institutions in the same nomination, a special kindergarten No. 65 of the Factory District won.
- We wanted to create a beautiful, harmonious space that starts with the flowers decorated entrance area. Complemented her patio and container landscaping, said the head of the preschool Inna Sorokina. Our garden has its own specifics: pupils are children with musculoskeletal disorders. For them, our territory is a special educational environment. We use the format of raised beds, which helps pupils to get acquainted with nature.

The winners of the competition were awarded diplomas of the Education Committee of the Minsk City Committee of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection. In addition, the partners prepared gifts: one of the capital’s banks handed over certificates for the purchase of garden equipment. Minsk city organization ROO "White Rus" presented the winners with trimmers.

The competition was organized by the Minsk State Tourism and Environmental Center for Children and Youth.
