Vladimir region was replenished with two new memorial monuments

Vladimir region was replenished with two new memorial monuments. The bust of the surgeon and St. Luke of Crimea was installed on the territory of the regional clinical center for emergency medical care "Red Cross" in Vladimir, and a monument to the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II appeared in the Holy Bogolyubsky Women's Monastery in the village of Bogolyubovo.
St. Luke is the church name of Valentin Voyno-Yasenetsky, an outstanding surgeon, professor and author of the fundamental work “Essays on Purulent Surgery”, for which he received the Stalin Prize. He combined medical work with spiritual service and is known for his contribution to the development of surgery.
The monument to Nicholas II was erected on the territory of the Bogolyubsky monastery in memory of the last Russian emperor.
Both monuments appeared thanks to benefactors in the framework of the project “Alley of Russian Glory”. According to regional authorities, 79 busts have already been installed in different parts of the country. The opening ceremonies were attended by the Governor of the Vladimir region Alexander Avdeev and Metropolitan of Vladimir and Suzdal Nikander.
