Drivers from Komi have been warned that there is a fine for using summer tires in the winter months. Traffic police inspectors can check the rubber at a stop and require the wheels to be replaced.

Summer tires are not designed for the cold season. Due to summer tires, the car listens to the steering wheel worse and increases the braking distance. Replace tires are advised when the daily temperature approaches zero degrees.
