Rospotrebnadzor announced a warning to Kaliningrad Vodokanal because of the quality of drinking water in the villages of Primorye and Forest of Svetlogorsk district. Information about this appeared on the website of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The reason was the appeal of a local resident, which entered the department through the Svetlogorsk interdistrict prosecutor's office. After that, experts took samples of water from taps in four houses: on the streets of Berezova, Officer and Artillery in Primorye, as well as on Yantarnaya Street in the village of Lesnoe.
Laboratory studies revealed excesses in several indicators at once. In the water from the house on Yantarnaya Street, an excess of the norm in turbidity was recorded by 3.88 times, and in chromaticity by 3.3 times. Samples from Primorye also found excesses in turbidity and chromaticity, and in some houses - in iron content.
For example, on Officerska Street, the iron content exceeded the permissible level by 3.3 times, and on Berezova Street by 2.43 times. In addition, in two samples from Primorye, the smell of water was higher than the established standard.
Vodokanal explained that they cannot independently take samples at these points, since they are outside the boundaries of operational responsibility of the enterprise. At the same time, cold water contracts with residents are concluded directly.
Rospotrebnadzor eventually announced a warning to the enterprise due to non-compliance with sanitary requirements for drinking water.
