Military servicemen from the reserve participate in command-staff exercises of the Western Operational Command

In command-staff exercises with the troops of the Western Operational Command, conscripts from the reserve for fees to the territorial troops take an active part. Units of one of the rifle battalions of the territorial troops perform tasks according to the plan of the exercises in the Volkovysk district of the Grodno region. The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces – First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus Major General Pavel Muraveyko personally arrived to assess the degree of their readiness to perform the tasks set.

As part of the exercises, territorial defense units took under protection an object of critical infrastructure – water intake. This is a key element of the municipality and life support system of the region. Disruption of the water intake facility can lead to the cessation of drinking water supply to settlements and the stop of production processes.

The facility is under enhanced security. Territorial defense units have the forces and means to counter unmanned aerial vehicles and sabotage and reconnaissance groups of a conditional enemy. Personnel are trained to use appropriate means of protection and surveillance.

One of the platoons of a separate infantry battalion of the territorial troops guards the allocated section of the road and, together with the employees of the internal affairs bodies, provides access control.

Comment by the platoon commander of a separate infantry battalion of the territorial troops of the junior lieutenant of the reserve Vladislav Kuznetsov:

- We assist the employees of the internal affairs bodies in conducting inspections of vehicles aimed at identifying illegally transported ammunition and weapons, explosive devices, explosives and other prohibited items. We don't do the search ourselves. Our key task is to protect and assist the employees of the internal affairs bodies. They carry out immediate inspections. This is the first time I've been to military training. When the summons came, I knew immediately that I had to come. I came here and found myself in a men's team, next to weapons, discipline, charter. I served in the police: for five years I worked in the Department of Protection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the city of Grodno, then continued my service in the police department as a district inspector. My fighters are very motivated. A good team was selected, which is responsible for the collections themselves, and for the tasks set. I think these fees are very important. Many people have long served in the army, who in other structures. Skills of possession of weapons, shooting, actions in the group must be periodically recalled and fixed. For me, these fees were very interesting and useful.
