The Minister of natural resources of the Kursk region Maxim Levin said that in the spring around the landfill of solid household waste in the village of Chaplygina Kursk district planted a protective forest belt. Its length is 840 meters, width is 8 meters. The strip consists of 4,000 red oak seedlings.
Recently, employees of the SAU KO "Forest Fire Center" checked the survival of seedlings and carried out additions to crops - planting. The main task of the forest belt is the protection of settlements near the landfill.
The planned date of completion of operation of the landfill is 2030. The facility will then carry out reclamation activities to restore the land. By this time, the planted trees will be large enough to form a beautiful forest belt.
