Volgograd explained why it is important to get vaccinated against the flu
Vaccination is one of the main ways to reduce the risk of severe flu and its complications

On the eve of the cold and flu season, Rospotrebnadzor experts remind that the best way to avoid catching the flu or transfer it in a lighter form is to get vaccinated before the virus begins to actively spread.
This is especially important for people over 60, children, pregnant women and those with chronic illnesses. First of all, doctors, teachers, social workers, who are in contact with a large number of people every day, should be vaccinated.
The state of health should be considered before vaccination. For example, in case of malaise or fever, the vaccination is postponed until full recovery, and after a recent infection, including COVID-19, the timing should be specified with the attending physician. Usually, the recommended break is 2-4 weeks, depending on the severity of the disease.
Immediately before vaccination, an examination is carried out by a therapist or pediatrician, if a child is involved, during which the doctor assesses the patient's condition. At the reception, you should tell the specialist in detail about the presence of chronic diseases, medications taken and recent infections. At the same time, you should not take antipyretic or antihistamines in advance without a direct prescription of a doctor.
You can get a flu shot in the clinic at the place of residence. After vaccination, it is recommended to remain under the supervision of doctors for 15 to 30 minutes, as well as to keep mandatory documents confirming the vaccination.
In addition, during the first 2 weeks, while the immune response is formed, it is advisable to limit contact with people who have signs of a cold.
If you experience any unusual symptoms, as well as if there are questions, you should promptly contact your doctor.
