Voronezh residents warned about fraudsters selling barcodes from orders on marketplaces
Roskoshestvo specialists have identified a new fraudulent scheme: scammers sell barcodes that give access to other people’s parcels on online platforms. As a result, the deceived citizen is deprived of both funds and purchases.

The mechanics of deception are this. In instant messengers, scammers open fake stores and lure buyers with large discounts - from 70 to 90%. The reason can be anything: “liquidation of the warehouse”, “promotion” or assurances that the employee allegedly trades through personal channels. However, instead of goods, a person is sold a barcode for issuing an order at the PVZ point.
What's the danger? The code sold relates to this order, but issued on an outsider. The buyer transfers money, receives the code and is sent to the point of issue. Further, the development of events can be different: the code has already been used, turned out to be fake, or the system does not recognize it.
However, most often this code corresponds to someone else’s already paid purchase. The order is taken by the one who came to the PVZ before. As a result, the rightful owner is left without goods, and scammers hide along with the money received.
There are additional threats. Even if you have the package, trouble is possible. When the real recipient begins to find out where the order disappeared, the security service of the marketplace can make claims to the one who took someone else’s purchase using someone else’s code.
How to be safe. It is worth to show maximum vigilance if the messenger offers you a “profitable order” with a discount or play a barcode in the lottery for a nominal fee. Do not transfer money to strangers for such offers.
If you are already in such a situation, it is recommended to immediately contact the marketplace and the police - this will help to fix the fact of fraud.
