Voronezh officials will clean the Bityug with fatheads
The Ministry noted that shallowing and overgrowth today affect most of the water bodies of the Voronezh region

Specialists of the regional Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology reported on September 22 on the results of a survey of two rivers in the Ertil district. The condition of Tokay and Bityug is assessed as critical or approaching.
Environmentalists studied the bottom, coastline and water protection zones in areas located in the villages of Shchuchye and Rostoshi. The conclusions are disappointing: the rivers require urgent clearing of the channels, as well as a set of measures to combat waterlogging and overgrown floodplain. In addition, there is a need to restore order in economic activities that are conducted in the coastal strip.
However, it will not be possible to solve the problem quickly. Both rivers are included in the regional water monitoring program, but it is designed for three years. For this reason, the official decision on clearance will not be made until 2027-2028.
The ministry noted that shallowing and overgrowth today affect most water bodies of the Voronezh region. Among the reasons are not only climate change, but also the human impact on nature.
One way to help rivers recover officials believe stocking. This year, Bityug plans to release more than 211 thousand fry of the white carp - a fish that feeds on aquatic vegetation and helps to combat overgrowth of reservoirs.
