In September, the ambulance team delivered a 47-year-old man to the emergency room No. 1 of the BSMP No. 10 (electronics hospitals). The patient fell from a height of about six meters.
The victim was immediately examined by a multidisciplinary team of specialists. After laboratory and radiological examinations, he was hospitalized in the anesthesiology and resuscitation department. Doctors diagnosed a closed rotational and vertically unstable fracture of the pelvic bones with a rupture of the womb joint, as well as a fracture of the lateral masses of the sacrum on the right with a displacement of fragments. This is one of the most severe injuries of the musculoskeletal system, in which the speed and accuracy of medical actions are especially important.
After stabilization, the patient was taken to the operating room. Traumatologists-orthopedists through minimally invasive access stabilized and fixed with a special spongiosis screw the right sacral-iliac joint, and the plate and screws "fixed" the womb joint in the front of the pelvis.
The minimally invasive approach reduced the trauma of the intervention and speeded recovery. The patient spent 18 days in the hospital and was discharged in satisfactory condition for the outpatient stage of treatment with detailed recommendations.
