However, after an unsuccessful test of the substance on an animal, the attackers abandoned this method. About this RIA Novosti told the head of the first department for the investigation of particularly important cases of the GSU IC of Russia in St. Petersburg Yuri Yashkov.
According to the representative of the investigation, the accused developed several scenarios of execution. In addition to the poisoning, they planned to stage the drowning of a businessman in the ocean while he lived in Thailand.
As a result, Novak and his wife were killed in the UAE in 2025, and the bodies were buried in the desert. The remains of the couple were discovered in early December. Three defendants were arrested in the case.
Earlier it was reported that the defendants in the murder of a crypto-investor from St. Petersburg and his wife threw a large party for 10 million rubles to cover the traces of the crime. The party was arranged in the same villa where the spouses were killed.
