The doctor told about the risk of stroke in young Vladimir

Young people often experience a stroke suddenly, although in fact the body has been exposed to harmful factors for years. Doctor Sergey Astafurov in an interview with Lenta.ru listed everyday habits that increase the risk of a vascular catastrophe even at a young age.

One of the main dangers is smoking. Nicotine narrows blood vessels and increases pressure, and components of tobacco smoke damage the vascular walls and contribute to the formation of blood clots. Electronic cigarettes are also not safe.

Another factor is a sedentary lifestyle. It leads to obesity, hypertension and disorders of carbohydrate metabolism. If you add to this chronic lack of sleep and alcohol, you can get heart rhythm disorders and pressure jumps.

Separately, the doctor noted the habit of ignoring hypertension: many young people do not measure blood pressure for years, considering it an age-related problem. At the same time, high blood pressure remains one of the main risk factors for stroke.
