In MNPC surgery, transplantology and hematology for the first time conducted a remote robotic operation. Experts remotely performed prostatectomy 60-year-old patient with localized prostate cancer. This was reported in the center, writes sb.by.

- We performed the first remote robotic operation in the country. This is a big step for our healthcare system, the introduction of high-tech treatments for our patients, he said.
As noted in the MNPC of surgery, transplantology and hematology, the operation was carried out not only to fulfill the oncological canons, but also to preserve the quality of life of the patient and included radical removal of the tumor with minimal trauma, careful preservation of nervous structures and more comfortable recovery.
The prospects for remote control of a robotic system, in my opinion, are quite relevant topics. It allows you to erase the geographical barriers between the patient and the specialist of our center, added Alexander Brezovsky.

- We did a very interesting operation. The surgeon who performed this surgery was not in the operating room, but outside the hospital. This will open new horizons in the future: to operate on patients throughout the country without going to the surgery site.
It is noted that the robot does not replace the doctor, but only helps the specialist to work more accurately, makes it possible to operate remotely.
