You Go to It Every Day: Reveal Shocking Facts About Your Bed

The bed can become one of the most polluted places in the house due to the accumulation of sweat, dust and microorganisms. This was stated in an interview with NEWS.ru by Professor of the Department of Geography and Geoecology of SUE Sergey Gildenskiold.

According to him, in hot weather, underwear becomes polluted much faster due to increased sweating.

“It is known that human skin renews daily: up to half a billion dead cells exfoliate, getting with sweat in bed,” said Gildenskiold.

The expert stressed that the bed gets dirty around the clock, as they sit on it in street clothes or lie down pets. To minimize the risks, Guildenskiold recommended not letting pets on the bed or sitting on it in things worn outside the home.

Change of bed linen should occur at least once every seven days, and pillowcases - twice a week.

“Wash your bed linen at a temperature of at least 55 degrees water to disinfect things,” advised Sergey Gildenskiold.
