The October stage of the republican marathon “Dobro.Bel” under the motto “Dobro.Self” brought together more than a hundred BRSM volunteers in Rechitsa. The children organize the delivery of vegetables at autumn fairs, bring firewood to private houses, help the elderly with cleaning houses and yards. Today, October 24, the troops of future teachers went to visit the pensioner Zinaida Dovydenko. Help was provided both physical and mental, writes sb.by.

85-year-old Zinaida Dovydenko has been living alone for 15 years: her husband has died, children and grandchildren in other cities, they do not always have the opportunity to come. With daily chores helps social worker, says the pensioner:
- I have a second disability group, now Ira (social worker – approx.) comes every day. But I myself try not to give up: in the spring the garden planted and everything that a person needs, grew: strawberries, cucumbers, carrots, beets, cabbage, bulba. How many sunsets did you close!
But no matter how brave Zinaida Mikhailovna, there is not enough physical strength for all the challenges that a private farmstead poses. The help offered by volunteers was welcomed. Before meeting with the guys excitedly asks her to apologize and runs away to the house - to change clothes. After all, guests are welcome in a beautiful!
Students of the Rechitsky State Pedagogical College enter the yard with packages - a gift to the ward brought a variety of goodies. Zinaida Mikhailovna gasps and immediately invites everyone to go drink tea. But modern Timurians insist with smiles: first work.

The pensioner has gas, but the stove heating is also present: in winter she likes to warm the ever-cold palms near the fire. The guys bring with them arms of firewood, and at the same time lay flat polennikov those that are already stored at Zinaida Mikhailovna.
The girls are going to revenge the yard. Ksenia Demidovets is only 16 years old, but this is not her first volunteer assignment: every month she goes to help the elderly
- I try to do something better, especially for those who are older. You talk to them and it makes you so warm.

- I've been a dressmaker for 40 years. And my husband was a tailor. We were the best in the city of Rechitsa! My husband made leather jackets and tans. His clients were the elite: doctors and bosses. Sometimes you walk around the city, and everyone bows to him.
The rakes even began to move more slowly on the autumn ground - so the girls listened. But then they got excited and rushed to the next task - to wash the windows. Their “colleague” Vladislav Prikota takes up the broomstick and outlines the route of movement around the yard:
- I've been volunteering since school. I like it to help people. I am very kind, such things bring me pleasure. I try to share more information about the movement with the other guys, so there will be more of us.

- I want to be useful, do something with my own hands. When you learn that the elderly are left alone, when all their relatives are far away, it becomes sad. I really want to be around them.
The guys have been around for a long time. Zinaida Mikhailovna vainly persuaded them to rest, and then could not stop the flow of gratitude:
- You have come and I have more fun!

- People always want to help and do good things. You know, when we go to single grandparents, we ask: “Did you, being in the Komsomol, help the elderly?” And it turns out that they themselves came to the elderly in their youth. And now the modern Komsomol, that is, BRSM, has already come to them. Good deeds come back boomerang.
The October stage of the republican marathon “Dobro.Bel” under the motto “Dobro.Senior” became a time of sincere care and warmth for the Gomel region, Igor Nazarchuk, First Secretary of the Gomel Regional Committee of the BRSM NGO, believes:
- Our volunteers have proven that helping is simple, important and vital. By the way, this month alone, more than 300 activists of the BRSM of the Gomel region joined the good marathon. These are young, caring guys who, at the call of their hearts, went to where their help was most awaited. Thanks to their energy, care and attention, more than 100 lonely citizens of golden age in our region have received real support. For the elderly, such assistance is not just solved household issues, picking firewood or cleaning the house area before the winter. This is primarily attention, understanding that they are not alone, and a lively dialogue of generations. Young people adopt wisdom, and the older generation is charged with optimism. The marathon continues, and we are glad that our good unites the Gomel region!
