Governor of the Yaroslavl region Mikhail Evraev and Rector of the Yaroslavl State Technical University Elena Stepanova discussed the development of scientific projects of the university and the training of engineering specialists for the regional industry.
According to the head of the region, the participation of YSTU in the federal program "Priority-2030" was a recognition of the high level of engineering training of the university and allowed to attract significant federal support. The university cooperates with large enterprises, including Avtodiesel, Yazda and PJSC Slavneft-YANOS. The regional authorities, in turn, intend to help attract investors and introduce developments that strengthen the industrial and scientific and technological potential of the country.
Within the framework of the Priority-2030 program, which the university joined in 2024, specialists of YSTU together with YZDA created a new material for electromagnets of high-speed valves. Together with the Ural Civil Aviation Plant, a set of algorithms for a digital twin of an internal combustion engine has been developed. In addition, the university has achieved promising results in the field of materials for 3D printing. With the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, an engineering development center in the direction of "Mechanical Engineering" was also opened here.
This year, the university began to develop a new scientific direction - technologies for the synthesis of heat-resistant phthalonitrile resins and special polyesterimides. For these works, with the assistance of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the KhimTech engineering development center was created.
Another project is related to the company "Evolutionary chemical technologies", which plans to build a plant in the Tutaev district. YSTU is a scientific partner of the enterprise within the framework of a tripartite agreement with the regional government. The regional authorities helped to select a site for future production, the university will be engaged in research work, and the implementation of the project should ensure the creation of new jobs.
Special attention in the university is paid to information technologies. The university received a large grant to train specialists for the digital economy, expands educational programs and trains personnel for the IT industry.
The interest of applicants to YSTU continues to grow. This year, about 12 thousand applications were submitted for the competition for admission to budget places for full-time education programs for basic higher education programs, which is 26% more than a year earlier. In total, more than 1,250 people enrolled in higher education and postgraduate programs.
