On the third day of incessant rains in the afternoon, a sunset suddenly looked out from behind the clouds and painted everything around in bright colors unusual for this time of year. For a few minutes, you could even watch a rainbow spread across the sky.

For Pokrov, one of the most revered holidays in the Russian Orthodox Church, the phenomenon is not the most common. After all, in the national calendar, the Intercession is a symbolic border between autumn and summer.
