For nine months of 2026 through the postal network of the Chelyabinsk region passed more than 37 million items. At the same time, residents of the region began to actively use electronic registered letters. Their number increased by 3%, according to the Russian Post.
The bulk of the postal flow is still made up of ordinary letters and parcels. From January to September, more than 36 million such shipments were processed in the region.
Moreover, South Urals receive correspondence much more often than they send. The difference between incoming and outgoing emails is close to a million.
The most popular type of paper correspondence remains registered letters. For nine months, more than 10.8 million such shipments were delivered to residents and organizations of the region.
At the same time, interest in electronic format is growing. The volume of digital written correspondence reached almost 2.5 million documents, an increase of 3% compared to the same period last year.
Emails can be received and sent through a personal account or mobile application. Such correspondence has legal significance, and it is not necessary to visit the post office for its registration.
Packages are different. Residents of the Chelyabinsk region send them more often than they receive: the outgoing flow was 20% more than the incoming one.
But in the EMS express delivery segment, the opposite picture is observed. The number of items entering the region is almost three times higher than the number of outgoing ones. The service includes courier delivery of letters and parcels to the home or office.
Russian Post also continues to develop self-service in the regional offices. Among the available services are prepaid parcels, electronic power of attorney and delivery by the recipient's phone number.
