Owned son 1 million 300 thousand alimony Novgorod will sit for six months
Novgorod district court sentenced a man who maliciously evaded payment of alimony for the maintenance of his son

The Novgorod district court sentenced a man who maliciously evaded payment of alimony for the maintenance of his son. The story stretched back to May 2022, when a court ordered a man to give a quarter of his earnings per child. In the autumn of the same year, bailiffs instituted enforcement proceedings, but the father was in no hurry to share income, the press service of the courts of the Novgorod region reported.
During the period from the summer of 2023 to the spring of 2025, the debtor accumulated a substantial amount and first got away with an administrative penalty in the form of fifty hours of mandatory work. However, the man did not learn this lesson. Remaining in the status of already punished, he continued to ignore his duties, did not look for work and even concealed real income. It turned out that in early 2026 Chervyakov earned more than 65 thousand rubles, but his son did not transfer a penny.
As a result, in just a few months, his debt amounted to about 70 thousand rubles, and the total debt from 2022 exceeded one million 300 thousand.
When the case came to the criminal court, the man did not deny guilt and repented. The court considered his candid remorse as a mitigating circumstance, but for repeated violation of the law still appointed six months in prison. The sentence has not yet entered into force and can be appealed.
