Replacement of elevators in Ulyanovsk and Dimitrovgrad in 2026: dates, addresses and plans for 2027-2028

In Ulyanovsk and Dimitrovgrad, the upgrade of elevator equipment in residential buildings is being completed. Of the 113 lifts planned for replacement, 107 have already been installed. The remaining work should be completed by the end of October. This was reported by the Governor of the Ulyanovsk region Alexei Russian.

One of the houses where elevators are being updated is the 12-storey No. 50 on Kirov Street in Ulyanovsk. There are two lifts that have served residents for about 45 years. According to the head of the region, this is twice the established service life of such equipment.

One of the new elevators has already been launched, the second is still in the installation stage. The progress of work is observed not only by specialists, but also by residents themselves. The asset of an apartment building monitors compliance with the deadlines and the quality of the installation.

Similar work continues at other addresses. In total, contractors have to replace six elevators in five apartment buildings. Two high-rise buildings are located in Ulyanovsk, three more in Dimitrovgrad.

Governor Alexei Russkikh instructed to complete the installation of equipment and hand over all facilities by the end of October. Thus, by November, the two largest cities in the region plan to fully complete the scope of work planned for this stage.

The need for updating is primarily associated with the wear of elevator equipment. Many lifts have been in operation for decades, which increases the likelihood of breakdowns and stops. Replacing outdated mechanisms should improve the reliability of their operation and the safety of residents.

At the same time, the modernization of elevators remains one of the most expensive areas of capital repair of apartment buildings. Therefore, the regional authorities intend to continue funding the program in the coming years.

According to Alexei Russkykh, for 2027-2028 from the regional budget plan to allocate 200 million rubles. During this period in the Ulyanovsk region expect to install another 500 new elevators.

Preparations for the next phase have already begun. The Regional Fund for the Modernization of the Housing and Communal Complex forms a list of apartment buildings in which the equipment will be replaced in the first place.
