We launch Diamobile: in the Astrakhan region check patients with diabetes

In the Astrakhan region, a mobile treatment and diagnostic module of the National Medical Research Center (NMIC) of Endocrinology named after academician I. I. Dedov of the Ministry of Health of Russia began its work. From October 19 to 28, a large-scale monitoring program for diabetes mellitus is being implemented.

According to the regional administration, the surveys will be conducted under the supervision of the main freelance endocrinologists of the Ministry of Health of the region: an adult - Alla Bagdasaryan and a child - Irina Abrosimova. Patients of the Volga, Narimanov, Kamyzyak, Krasnoyarsk, Ikryaninsky district hospitals, as well as city polyclinics No 1, No 5, No 8 and No 10 will be examined. The Diamobil base will be Alexandro-Mariinsk Regional Clinical Hospital. For residents of the districts, the organizers provided for a centralized transfer.

During the module, 200 people will be diagnosed: 140 adults with type I and II diabetes and 60 children with type I diabetes. Every day, specialists plan to examine 25-30 patients from districts and city clinics.

Comprehensive diagnosis will help to identify the risks of complications and assess the condition of target organs. In the medical team - an ophthalmologist, cardiologist, endocrinologist and a specialist in the Diabetic Foot office. Patients will pass the necessary tests and will be able to visit the “School for patients with diabetes”, where they will be taught to control the disease. The project is supported by the regional Ministry of Health.

“For our region, this is a significant event, according to the Minister of Health of the Astrakhan region Alexander Burkin. Thanks to such federal projects and the support of partners, we can conduct an in-depth examination of patients with diabetes, identify the risks of complications and train patients to manage their disease. It is important that this does not require additional investments from the regional budget: the food, transfer and work of the Diamobil are provided by the National Center for Endocrinology.

On October 21, the Ministry of Health of the Astrakhan region will host a round table with the participation of Alexander Burkin, Deputy Director of the National Institute of Endocrinology, Academician Marina Shestakova and Professor, Head of the Department of Diabetic Foot of the National Institute of Endocrinology Gagik Galstyan. On the same day, a scientific and practical conference for endocrinology specialists is organized.
