Protracted magnetic storm will cover Orenburg: the peak will be on October 21-22
A long magnetic storm is expected next week

On October 18 and 19, the magnetosphere was calm - a background level of 2 points. Already on Tuesday, October 20, by the evening it is expected to rise to 4 points. Then comes the peak: on Wednesday, October 21, the indicators will remain at the level of 4 points, and by the evening will rise to 5. On Thursday, October 22, the storm will continue to rage - 5 points almost all day, with a slight decrease to 4 by the evening. On Friday and Saturday, October 23 and 24, the magnetosphere will gradually calm down, but still be agitated – 4 points. And only by the end of Saturday, the figures will drop to 2 points.
What does that mean for well-being? Meteosensitive people during such periods may complain of headache, fatigue, sleep disturbances and pressure surges. Be especially careful in the middle of the week when the storm reaches its peak.
The main difference between this storm and one-off bursts is its duration. Only the weekend before it and the very end of the week will be calm, and from October 20 to 24, the magnetosphere will be in an excited state almost constantly. For weather-dependent people, this means not one hard day, but a prolonged period of increased load. During such periods, doctors usually recommend not to plan overloads, get enough sleep and keep the usual medications on hand. And one more point: the forecasts of the geomagnetic situation can change within a few hours, so it is worth monitoring the operational updates of specialists.
Do you feel magnetic storms? Do you feel worse on these days?
