Tomorrow, October 25, in Kalmykia will celebrate the memory of the three holy martyrs – Probus, Tarakh and Andronicus, who suffered for their faith under the emperor Diocletian.
During the persecution of Christians, three men were seized and brought to trial by the ruler.
The torturers took turns asking Prov, Tarach and Andronicus what their names were. And each of them gave the same answer: "I am a Christian, and this name is dearer to me than what my parents gave." The three martyrs were subjected to further tortures, but at all interrogations they said that they were not afraid of death because they would come to life in heaven. Losing hope to turn Christians away from the faith, the ruler, according to legend, ordered to throw men to be eaten by wild animals, but predators did not touch them.
