In Transbaikalia, the court left unchanged the sentence of a resident of Smolenka, who deliberately hit a minor motorcyclist after a conflict on the road. The man was found guilty of attempted murder and appointed seven years and three months in a maximum security colony. This was reported in the MAKS-channel “Courts of Transbaikalia”.
The incident occurred in September 2025. The driver of a foreign car made a remark to the teenager because of the high beam of the motorcycle headlights, which blinded oncoming motorists. In response, the young man cursed, showed an offensive gesture and left.
Angry, the man started chasing the motorcyclist. When the teenager slowed down before turning left, the driver pointed the car at him. After the collision, the car dragged the motorcycle along with the young man at least 20 meters along a dirt road.
The teenager survived. He was protected from head injuries by a motor helmet. After the car stopped, he was able to leave the scene.
The man reported the incident to the police, presenting the incident as a normal accident. In court, he denied intentional hitting and claimed that he did not cope with the management.
The court found him guilty of attempted murder. In addition to imprisonment, the man confiscated the car as a weapon of crime.
The lawyer appealed the verdict, but the appeal court left the sentence unchanged.
